Built around the flag, the central position of the wordmark reflects the locality of where they're from, the northern hemisphere, to where they now live, the southern — and the words running left to right represent the style of beers they make and where it is made — west coast IPA's made on the east coast.
Black and white were chosen to reduce printing costs to a minimum whilst allowing for a bold, text driven brand that could highlight the beer and products themselves.
